Learning at Home

Aims Of Learning At Home

  • to provide a link between the school and the home.
  • to give parents the opportunity to be directly involved with their child’s learning.
  • to develop effective study habits.
  • to encourage young people to take greater responsibility for their own learning.
  • to provide challenging opportunities for consolidation, reinforcement and progression.
  • to identify gaps in learning.
  • to support preparation for assessments.
  • to enhance enjoyment of learning.

Pupils at Craigie High School can get much better grades if they are prepared to put in work at home.

We find a lot of our pupils work very hard in class. If they backed this up with study and useful activities at home their exam performance would be greatly enhanced.

Parents and carers can help by:

  • Providing a quiet area for study.
  • Taking an interest in homework.
  • Providing a school bag for work to be taken home.
  • Making sure young people get at least 10 hours sleep.
